Tiresia 2003 DVDRip XviD 27: A Review of the French Drama Film

Tiresia is a French drama film directed by Bertrand Bonello and released in 2003. Plot Summary

The film is divided into two parts: Tiresia I and Tiresia II. In the first part, Tiresia (Clara Choveaux) is a Brazilian transsexual who works as a prostitute with her brother in the outskirts of Paris. She is kidnapped by Terranova (Laurent Lucas), a poet and aesthete who is obsessed with her beauty. He keeps her captive in his isolated house, where he forces her to recite poetry and admire his paintings. However, without her regular dose of hormones, Tiresia gradually starts to change back into a male. Displeased, Terranova blinds her with a pair of scissors and abandons her in the countryside.

In the second part, Tiresia (Thiago Telès) is found by Anna (Célia Catalifo), a kind-hearted woman who lives alone in a small village. She takes care of Tiresia, who regains her sight and develops a prophetic gift. She becomes a local celebrity, attracting the attention of the media and the church. Meanwhile, Terranova, who is haunted by guilt and visions of Tiresia, tries to find her again.

Critical Reception

The film received mixed reviews from critics and audiences. Some praised the film for its daring and original approach to the myth of Tiresias, as well as its cinematography and performances. Others criticized the film for its slow pace, lack of coherence, and graphic violence.
